The New Paltz Pride March and Festival has deep roots in this community. It grew out of the historic same-sex weddings performed here in 2004, a moment that helped put New Paltz at the center of the fight for LGBTQ+ rights and inspired the first formal Pride March and Festival in 2005. Since then, the event has grown into a joyful, meaningful tradition in the Hudson Valley, bringing people together in celebration, visibility, and solidarity.



 

In recent years, the New Paltz Pride Coalition has been proud to help carry that legacy forward, first as part of the broader organizing effort in 2023, then in partnership in 2024, and since 2025, as the organization leading this important community event.
